I started my own company when I was only 22 years old. I attended a cosmetology university and I knew that I didn’t want to work for a corporate salon. I worked like crazy and saved up enough currency to open up my own shop. I am so proud of the company I have built and hopefully I will be able to pass down the company to my daughter in due time. She is currently in cosmetology university and is actually working part time at the shop to help out with university expenses. This also means that she is getting fabulous experience and will have an advantage with her classmates. I definitely hope that she is really learning how to run the company by watching me take care of things all of the time. There are several things you don’t consider when it comes to owning your own business… One of those things is scheduling official HVAC maintenance. Since it is my corporation, I easily can’t afford to be out of work for a couple of days. I normally have a local HVAC company come out every couple of months just to make sure that everything is running at maximum capacity. I have a contract with this HVAC company with a great reputation and they have been great to work with. I have introduced my child to the HVAC contractors and she is starting to make connections with them too. I am trying to teach her things like HVAC maintenance so she will know precisely what to expect one day when she is calling the shots. In any company, HVAC maintenance is so very important for air quality control on a yearly basis.
