Frustrating at this old house is, I truly love it for all its flaws. The architecture makes up for any faults, since it’s such a rare design to see in any residential houses these days! One flaw I can’t deal with anymore is the mediocre heating and air conditioning, so I resolved to talk to a local Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C provider about new heating and cooling systems that can be installed. I also mentioned how we’ve got a basement that stays cold, and an upper floor that can’t seem to cool down, which is my main gripe. I’m aware the current HVAC system dates back to the early nineties, so it’s possible that the system is simply built for obsoletion after enough time has passed. There are better Heating, Ventilation, and A/C systems on the market now, per the internet listings I’ve found, and most of them can address drafts and cold spots. One of the systems included a thermostat with a remote sensor, which can help heat and cool a multi-story home without issues. Meanwhile, a mini-split system can help by adding a separate Heating, Ventilation, and A/C system to the basement, which would allow direct control over the chilly basement. I’ll have to add some security features in with the modern Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C equipment, but at least I’ll be staying warm in the house once the new system’s installed! These cold spots throughout the house can really put a damper on how I cope with the weather these days. Indoor air quality and adequate warmth are pretty important, don’t you think? Now, if I could just get ahold of an HVAC contracting firm that can install the system for cheap!
