For multiple months now I have been in limbo with my job. I’ve been stuck between a full time position and a new online position. It’s not that I don’t really want another full time job as much as it is that I’m trying to be very diligent about picking the right line of work and also the right employer for myself. I think I’ve finally got it figured out now, though. And I’ve started to work out a new plan for the rest of my work life. Recently, I happened to come across an advertisement for this accelerated heating, ventilation, and A/C certification program that’s becoming available in town. My interest was piqued and I began to read all about the heating and cooling coursework, the guaranteed repair internship they offered, and the rapid job placement help into the Heating and Air Conditioning field for graduates. I started to think about all the things I could do while on the job, like going to people’s homes to assist them them with their air quality concerns. It actually sounded quite fulfilling to me. I would really like to know my way around my own current cooling system and gas furnace for my own home! I was really sold on the idea, and so I began to make calls and get further information. I inquired on the entire ventilation specialist degree, and within 3 or 4 days, I was enrolled in the Heating and Air Conditioning program. Then I eagerly reported for duty to do some job shadowing of a real heating and cooling specialist. What I’ll admit was a little strange was the fact that it took me so long to realize my own interests in the home ventilation industry. Why? Because I come from a very long line of Heating and Air Conditioning dealers. I just never thought that the heating and cooling business was interesting at all until I saw that ad in the newspaper!
