When I was in college, I bought my first automobile at a local auction. I wanted it to be my dream car. The dealership that I went through assured me that the automobile would be just perfect for me. Well, it definitely was not. The thing is, when I bought the car at auction, I was required to pay the full price upfront. This is because the automobile dealership is not supplying the car from their lot. They used my money to buy, ship and get the car to their local lot. When I finally received the car, however, it was the wrong color, way bigger than I expected plus rusted. And yet, I was stuck with it. There was no returning the car, and the dealer was unwilling to buy it off me. I was stuck with an ugly, oversized and older car. After that, I swore off auction vehicles. Then I saw a Japanese model. I came across a nissan skyline gtr for sale and just had to have it. Doing an auction through a JDM importer is a far different experience. First, they only required that I pay for shipping of the automobile upfront. Then, once the automobile came in, if I didn’t like it, they were willing to send it back. I got the nissan skyline gtr and it had a couple manufacturer issues with it. I also did not care for the color. I then wanted to see the jdm toyota supra that was for sale. I again, paid the shipping and got access to the car. This model was exactly what I wanted and in fantastic condition. I am now a major supporter of JDM importers in the USA.
